South Surrey White Rock Minor Softball Association is proud to announce the appointment of Daniela Gibson as Head Coach of our U15B Thunder 2012 team for the 2026 season.
Coach Gibson returns for her third consecutive season leading the 2012B team, continuing a coaching journey that began in 2024. A former player with a deep passion for the sport, Daniela is committed to developing young athletes not just as softball players, but as confident, resilient individuals.
Daniela holds Softball Competition - Introduction - Trained certification through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). Her approach focuses on teaching strong fundamentals—particularly throwing technique, hitting readiness, and game awareness—while also incorporating agility, strength training, and mental performance. Under her guidance, players learn to be quick-thinking, prepared, and focused both on and off the field.
One of the trademarks of Daniela’s coaching is the emphasis she places on mindset. Themes like being LOCKED IN have become part of the team’s culture, promoting accountability, perseverance, and growth. Her athletes are encouraged to own their mistakes, learn from them, and move forward with confidence.
Daniela is the kind of coach any parent would want mentoring their daughter. She brings a balance of technical instruction, emotional support, and team-first values that help each player reach their potential in a positive and encouraging environment.
“I love what I do and the team we’ve built,” says Gibson. “These girls are eager to grow, and I’m proud to be a part of their development both as athletes and as people.”
